About Our Inspirational Speaker: The U-Can! Man

A native of Monticello, Florida, The U-Can! Man has been married for more than 19 years to the virtuous Karen Yvette Isom. They have been blessed with 4 much-loved children: Joshua (16), Caleb (14), Joy Marie (8), and Christian (3). One month after graduation from Jefferson County High School in Monticello, our motivational speaker enlisted in the US Army on June 29th, 1982. His basic combat and advanced initial training took place at the United States Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, Georgia. For the next 6 years, The U-Can! Man served in numerous capacities as an infantry soldier before his assignment to Recruiting Command in June of 1988.

He retired from the army on December 1, 2007, after more than 25 years of services. He has experience as a field recruiter; a production station commander; an instructor at the United States Army Recruiting and Retention School in Fort Jackson, South Carolina; a training developer/video production leader at the United States Army Recruiting Command Head Quarters in Fort Knox, Kentucky; and a United States Army Chaplain Recruiter in Fort Meade, Maryland. A proactive leader, mentor, and visionary, the U-Can! Man received his recruiting ring in February 1994 while assigned to the Jacksonville, Florida, Recruiting Battalion, where he also received the battalion's Mentor of the Year Award. In October 2006, our inspirational speaker received the Glenn E. Morral Recruiting Award. Competent, dedicated, and focused, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Chaplaincy as a Chaplain Recruiter in the 1st Recruiting Brigade.

The motivational speaker of The U-Can! Man, LLC, has been a licensed Baptist minister since February 1994. He served as Youth Minister at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Knox, Kentucky, from March 2001 to January 2004, and also as youth minister/leader of the Mount Calvary District Association, representing 10 local churches in the Fort Knox area from July 2003-July 2004.
